Production and dissemination of improved pottery stoves: New Lao Bucket and Anagi in the Philippines

Two models of pottery stoves were introduced in the Philippines - one was an adaptation of New Lao Bucket Stove (a one pothole charcoal stove), called Mabaga Kalan and another, a two pothole wood stove, Maliyab kalan (the woodstove was adapted based on the design of Anagi from Sri Lanka).

A series of training have been conducted from several years back, which included, a stove producer training, a workshop on clay for pottery and internship for advanced potters in Cambodia. While, commercial dissemination of the stoves have been occuring in Iloilo, South Cotabato, Tupi & Davao City, Cebu.
