The ETHOS conference will once again be held in Seattle at Northwest College this year January 26-28. Organized activities will be begin on Friday evening and conclude on Sunday afternoon at 5 pm.
ETHOS 2007
The ETHOS 2007 Conference is being in Seattle Washington on January 26, 27, and 28.
The ETHOS 2007 Conference will be building on its previous annual meetings and encourages all parties interested in international household energy, cookstoves, indoor air pollution to participate.
There will be a registration fee of $50 ($20 for students, seniors, and others with financial hardships)
Conference Themes
Lab research, including: insulative materials, efficiency testing, emissions monitoring, safety updates and design issues, gasifier advances, hayboxes/insulative cookers, solar cookers.
Field experience, including monitoring of: performance, indoor air pollution exposure, health impacts, user satisfaction, time and socio-economic impacts; awareness raising; stove promotion; involvement of volunteers and local universities; lessons and modification to approaches.
* Efficiency versus effectiveness, and resulting design implications.
* Technology standards: key parameters, constraints.
* Policy issues: role of U.S. partnerships and international donors, country-level leadership, subsidies versus commercialization.
