** BOILING POINT 53: TECHNOLOGIES THAT REALLY WORK - REQUEST FOR ARTICLES **

The theme for the next issue of Boiling Point is 'Technologies that really work', and we are currently looking for article submissions.

This issue will cover a range of proven energy technologies for cooking, lighting and electricity, heating and institutional use; especially those that have been designed for a particular use, for example, reducing fuel use, reducing cost or improving efficiency.

The deadline for submission of articles will be the 10th January 2007.
Articles should be approximately 1500 words in length and include a good description, how and where they have been tested, the cost of the technology, the level of complexity for construction and maintenance, photographs and information on where people can get more details.

** WOMEN AND CHILDREN SHOULD NOT DIE AS A RESULT OF COOKING MEALS FOR THEIR FAMILY, SAYS KURT HOFFMAN **

In this month's Shell Foundation Newsletter, various partners discuss efforts by the Shell Foundation to reduce IAP in India through sustainable, market based energy solutions. Following on emerging successes of the program, Shell Foundation is aiming to expand its program to seven states in India, and distribute between five and seven million improved stoves in an effort to improve the lives of millions of people who are dependent on biomass.
