The temperature of the gases just below the bottom of the pot reached 1,425 degrees F, plus/minus 25 degrees. The amount of fuel was 500 ml of soft wood pellets from Colorado. Water: 750 ml @ 15 degrees C. From a cold start, the water, in a camping pot, boiled in just over 12 minutes. Boil was sustained for another 16 minutes. Wood gases were exhausted at about the 28:30 mark and the biochar was dumped into a quench pot. The conditions were moderately windy. The fire was never blown out. All in all, the enhancements seemed to have worked out better than I had expected. Note: The first test burn of this configuration of the Sweet 16, using the Gas Drip Pan as a grate, boiled 500 ml of water in just about 8 minutes. On the second burn, 50% more water took 50% more time to boil. Comments? Suggestions? Cheers, Jock Jock Gill 18 Woods Edge Road Medford, MA 02155 (617) 449-8111
