The CRAB Stove
The CRAB Stove a low cost metal charcoal stove by Lanny Henson.
CRAB Stove- The Henson Charcoal Rice And Bean Cooker cooks, serves and holds. It is efficient and saves up to 75% on fuel. It is inexpensive, easy to build and easy to use, just light it and forget it. Only 150 grams of charcoal cooks 5 kilograms of rice. That is about ¼ the UCB Water Boiling Test Benchmark of 600 grams for charcoal.
The CRAB Stove only needs 175 grams of charcoal cooks 5 liters of pintos for 2 hours, or boil and simmers 5 liters of water/stew.
It functions three ways, it cooks, it serves, it holds.

Center Frame Wood Burner
I think the wood burner below has potential, it had the best burn that I have seen with small wood and straw, but I am new to (wood gas?) burners so maybe not.
Center fire, simple tin can wood gas burner cartridge module. (name?) The improved center frame was simple and fast too build, it uses a spiral wire that is formed around a tube.
A funnel cut from the bottom of a pail (8??? dia flat lay out) replaces the grate and focuses the combustion air and heated secondary combustion air up the center frame.
Small wood splinters and straw are used for fuel.
I light it from the bottom, Top lighting may be better.
It produced nice flames with no visible smoke.
Then the char burned and most of the ashes fell through the cone. The next set up will control the combustion air to see if the burner can turn down without smoking.

Lanny's Charcoal Burner
Center fired cartridge burner modules for wood and charcoal. Easy and quick to fire, heat generating modules.
They are refillable and reusable.
They take all the heat stress/ware and are simple enough to be used as consumable stove parts.
They are easy to store for use in emergencies or for outdoor cooking and can be used it with a variety of other heat utilizing devices.
This charcoal cartridge burner is flexible and can be used it with a variety of heat utilizing devices.
It is efficient, 1 ?? lb (24 Kingsford briquettes) will heat a Webber Smoky Mountain BBQ smoker to 450 degF to grill. Most use 5 or 10 lbs and struggle to get 300 degF.
It uses a center wire frame (name suggestion) and a simple folded bar grate.10 grams of corrugated and 10 grams of wood are used in the center frame to light the charcoal.
It is lit from the bottom.
